Hixon Fellows of the Kiwanis International Foundation
|
 |
The George F. Hixon Fellowship honors the first president of Kiwanis International (KI).
It was created as an endowment in 1983. It is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a
Kiwanian by the Kiwanis International Foundation. All KI Foundation funds are used for the
support of Kiwanis sponsored youth, disaster relief, and to the needs of children around the
world. Funds may also be designated for Kiwanis International Worldwide Service Projects, such
as Iodine Deficiency Disorders. Membership is granted to individuals who have made
a contribution or a contribution has been made in their behalf of $1,000 to the Foundation.
In addition, a Kiwanis Club, an individual, a company, or an organization may make a contribution to
honor a deserving individual. Additional contributions of $1,000 or more entitle Hixon
Fellows to become Diamond Level Fellows.
